Hello again Jackson,
ReplyDeleteYou've done an awesome job thinking of words and phrases to start off the poem with different letters. I like how your poem is about the noisy city and kind people sharing hugs :) Did you know that these types of poems are called 'acrostic poems'? I'm sure you've come across poems like this at school but basically in an acrostic poem, certain letters spell out words or phrases. You can even write an acrostic poem using your first and last name! See if you can come up with something creative and fun :)
I enjoyed reading your summary on how the seven sisters became stars. Do you remember studying about the seven stars of Matariki at school? I actually used this book with a year 7/8 class last year and we created a jigsaw art piece together as a class! Do you remember any learning related to Matariki?
Wow! What a creative idea for guessing the shape of the clouds! I like how you have took an extra step to describe the shapes in detail. Keep up the good work and I hope you're having fun blogging with us.
Until next time, happy blogging!

Kia Ora Jackson,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Hinerangi, You don't know me as I live in East Auckland and go to Pt England School. I have come along to check out some posts you have made for us. My favourite activity overall would have to be the Southern Lights acrostic poem one, I absolutely love this activity as you have done it well and completed it really simple for us to see. I really love the letter S as it says super, look lights which I think is true to say about the Southern Lights. Do know any other acrostic poems? Overall amazing post, keep up the great work.
Yours sincerely,
Hinerangi
