Last week in science we make borax crystals

 The aim of this experiment was to see if we could make crystals out of borax and water

Step 1. Fill a beaker with water 

2. Set up the tripod and the bunsen burner

3. Heat the water up with the bunsen burner and slowly start adding borax

4. When the water starts bubbling put the rest of the borax in

5. Tie a string to a pencil and then put it on the beaker to sit and rest

6. Done 

We used these things in the experiment

In conclusion, We dissolved the borax in the water. Solute: borax, Solvent: Water 

We made a concentrated solution. Using a crystalization we separated the borax from the water

Marshmellow tower activite

Today in health we made a marshmallow tower, we are studing interpersonal skills. We had 8 skewer stickers and 12 marshmallows. These questions are part of our` blog post.

 What ip skills and warm fuzzies did you use today? I used the Verbal communication IP skill and one of my warm fuzzies witch was "Yeo"

How did it help with the success/ lack of success, of the activity? We didn't do very well on this activate today but our tower didn't stand up at all

Who did you work with? Kayla, Anne, and nisita. This group wasn't a good group because we had a lot of arguing

If you were to do it again how you do it differently? I would change groups

What level of helisons behavior modal did you work at today? Today we worked at a level 2

Dilution and filtration

Last week in science we mixed copper nitrate with sodium hydroxide to make a bright blue precipitate.

 

Which test tube had the most concentrated sample of copper nitrate? The first one was the most concentrated because it was all chemicals and had no water to water it down.

When we added the water what were we doing to the concentration of the solution? It caused the chemicals to be less concentrated

Health

 In today's activity in health 

I used some of the IP skills that included verbal communication and I used 2 of my warm fuzzies that were "good job" and "cool"

I did pretty well in this activate and I did what I was meant to

I worked with Aroha today and we did a pretty good job on our drawings.

I was at a level 2 on the hellions model today

What is resilience to you? Resilience is showing that you care about something or doing school work and putting effort into it.

What skills do you need to show resilience? Well you don't need skills at all to show resilience all you need is to be committed to showing resilience

Think of a time when a challenge came along. how would you deal with it differently this time. Something I would do differently is one time when I got in trouble I caused a lot more than I could of but now If I were to redo that time I would just take the punishment from the start instead of causing more trouble

Heating a water box

 The aim of yesterdays experiment was to see how long the water would last in a paper box over top of a flame

The equipment that was used was a Bunsen burner, tripod, Heat mat, Timer, Paper, A water sorce, Glass beaker, Safety glassees, lighter
